Fine Art digital gallery
This is a digital gallery of recent artworks I have done, to display my range
and style. This has more of a focus upon painting and creating for my own
enjoyment and for other people.
I do take on freelance comissions, which are individually priced to suit each
customer and their requests.
If you wish to get in contact, with an enquiry about a comission, please email
me at [email protected]
I also produce illustrated prints which are sold on my etsy shop found here
Why I paint the bodies..I have had a few questions in the past about why I paint the things that I
paint. For example: Colourful figures of close up female body studies.
The truth is, for one I think they're beautiful, but most importantly I like
talking about the uncomfortable.
As an A-Level student I studied psychology, sociology and Fine Art and I
surrounded myself with friends who would openly discuss the world, society,
politics and the criminal justice system. This resulted in me becoming a very

A new introductionHello and welcome back!
It's been a while..
To put things simply, VelvetNavy as you knew it will no longer be VelvetNavy as
you knew it.
I am scrolling back through my old posts (now unpublished, squirreled away for
my own entertainment) and I find myself cringing and rolling my eyes.
It's safe to say I've changed a lot since I started my blog, and I tried to move
the posts along as I grew, but eventually fell out of love with blogging as I
felt like I should be sticking to my old content.
Quarantine checklist- A list of things to do during lockdownHello and welcome back to another post full of ideas of things to do when you're
bored. Except, this one is a little more important, since we are currently at
the heart of a Global Pandemic, and everyone is stuck inside until the storm
Fear not, there is plenty to do from the comfort of your own home to distract
you from your inevitable boredom (I know you're all bored because it's all I've
seen on twitter)
So, here is just a little list of ideas that I came up with, that I personally
How is Social Media really affecting us?“How does social media affect young people’s mental health- in particular, depression and anxiety?”

big exam, have a looming piece of homework, want to eat more healthily and
become fitter, or just have some big life goals.
This one's for you.
In the wise words of Shia La'Beouf and nike: "JUST DO IT"
1. Doing just 30 minutes of something productive everyday equates to 182 hours
and 30 minutes of productivity every year
2. You have the same amount of time in a day as Barack Obama and Beyonce

Vincent Van Gogh's oil painting: 'the potato eaters', also known by its Dutch
name 'De Aardappelters'. Painted in 1885 in Nuenen, Netherlands, one of the many
accommodations for Van Gogh during his lifetime.
"Aardappel", the word for potato, translates literally to "Earth Apple" which
perfectly reflects the worth of the potatoes to this family, it is their own
fruit straight from the earth which they work with.
I first came across this painting on a trip to the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam
MoonA reflection of a sunlight we will never see, someone else's sunlight, sunrise,
A reflection of another world, a ball of fire turned cold,
silver night, a magical shiver of moonshadow.
A glimmer of mystery from a mass of rock and iron and..
Iron that casts metallic orbs across our everynight, our night cloaked
in darkness, yet advertising a glimmer of hope.
A glimmer of hope of tomorrow, the sunlight a new day will bring, or perhaps the
beauty of yesterday?

Amsterdam adventuresI'm back with an adventure to share full of exciting memories and beautiful
photographs. You could call this an informative list of things to do in
Amsterdam for tourists. Those of you who follow my Instagram will know that I
recently had an incredible art trip to Amsterdam with my sixth form art class,
and we crammed as much as possible in the tiny 3 days we had there. I bought a
postcard from each place we visited that had a gift shop so I will show you my
collection at the end.
It was FABULOU
My bedroom makeover - roomspirationHello and welcome to a less opinionated blog post about where I'm getting my
inspiration for my room from and how I plan to go about making it a reality.
So to begin with I obviously had to create a pinterest "roomspiration" board, I
began to fill it with everything I loved and the perfect colour scheme. I knew
from the get-go that grey, white, and dusky rose/rose gold was the way to go for
me. Call me cliche but those are my favourites.
Once I had gathereed a few inspiring images I decided to
New year New me?So to begin with, I'm going to offend a load of people by suggesting that "New
year, new me" is a load of bullshit in most cases. Before you all click off, or
come for me, wafting your beauteous resolutions lists, hear me out and take a
look at my argument.
The negative outlook
The fact that people make a pretty, productive list at the start of a new full
orbit has puzzled me increasingly over the years, since through evidence I have
found that in most cases: it's a gimmick and a lie which peop
