Gift Wrapping

Hello and Welcome to Gift wrapping! I am so excited about this blog post, It may seem silly to some, but wrapping presents is an event worth talking about in my books. I take great pride in my Christmas wrapping and enjoy decorating each present to look a spectacle under the tree.

Last year I neatly wrapped my presents in brown paper, some with gold or red glitter stripes and patterns on, and tied them off with variations of ribbon. I then bought little toadstool decorations and stuck a couple of them onto each present. I finished them of with retro, personalised little brown tags.

This year, I have once again upped my game. I get the bulk of my wrapping bits and bobs from Tiger and this year they have gone for a kind of Kitsch, retro vibe, so I’m gonna rock it!

To start, I wrap my presents with (obviously) brown wrapping paper with red glitter patterns and white and silver Christmas tree paper, I may not always be brilliant at this but I definitely try my best!

I then tie variations of ribbon, sequin string, and more. I still have some different ribbons from last year and I have newly bought some classic old tartan style-e ribbon to add to the collection and the old school Christmas theme. It’s nice to vary each present and make it individual to each person. This is one of the best parts of the process, choosing which combination of decorations goes best for each person. I sound like such a present wrapping nerd, but gift giving honestly gives me so much joy at Christmas. Seeing them under the tree in all of their glory in the build up to Christmas makes me so happy!

Now for the little extra bit, I still have some of the toadstools from last year so i have added a couple of them here and there. I also bought some tiny wooden decorations with little bits of string to attach them to the presents, personally, I think they are adorable and add such authenticity and character.

Now, present wrapping isn’t just about the obvious or wrapping presents (at least for me it’s not) I like to make an event of it, I’ll put on a Christmas film or Christmas music, put my Christmas lights on, set the festive scene and atmosphere, and get everything laid out. I absolutely love it! To find out which are a few of my favourite Christmas films and songs, check out my “Christmas Media” blog post and my Christmas playlist on spotify.
